Q.
How will Buro Happold support me to achieve chartered status?
A.
Because professional accreditation is a key part of your graduate development, we have a dedicated member of the Learning and Development team who is on hand to advise and support you.

We have accredited schemes with the Institution of Civil Engineers, the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers, the Institution of Fire Engineers, and the Institution of Engineering and Technology; we also support applications across a wide range of other accrediting institutions.

Q.
How long does it take to become chartered at Buro Happold?
A.
Obviously, it depends on your own personal circumstances. That said, our accredited company schemes have been designed to be as user friendly as possible, helping you to meet your training objectives and, in turn, apply for chartered status in a lower than industry-average timescale. On average, this is within four years of graduating.

Q.
What opportunities exist to work overseas?
A.
In a word, plenty. All of our offices in Europe, the Middle East and the USA recruit graduates. We also offer secondment opportunities to other offices or site locations. However, you will need to have gained some work experience in your home office first.

Q.
What type of projects can I expect to work on?
A.
We have been very lucky to have worked on so many fantastic projects across all major construction sectors: schools, universities, parks, hospitals, transport hubs, sports stadia, bridges, major regeneration projects... the list goes on. We are renowned for our imaginative, cutting edge design solutions which encourage the sustainable use of materials, energy and natural resources.

See our Graduate profile section for more details of what you can expect.
