As a graduate, you want to be pushed, challenged and developed. Actually, let’s rephrase that: you demand to be pushed, challenged and developed. After all, it’s your future in question.
Each year, we bring all our new graduates together for a week-long multi-disciplinary design event which will introduce you to the world of Buro Happold and our collaborative approach to multi-disciplinary design. We call it Grad Week. Informative and enjoyable, it’s also a chance to meet up with other graduates from around the country and share experiences over a drink or two...A year later, the same graduates get together again to catch-up and spend some time further developing their multi–disciplinary working.
Beyond Grad Week, you will be encouraged to spend time in different teams, gaining an insight into other disciplines and a well-rounded understanding of engineering design consultancy. What’s more, you will be fully supported throughout your career with us. As well as having a buddy and a mentor, each office has a local graduate representative. So if you have questions you’re never far away from the answers.
Mind you, it’s not all work, work, work. We’re as active socially as we are professionally, from sports clubs to nights out. Our graduates also get fully involved in both community and humanitarian work, via Engineers without Borders (www.ewb-uk.org) and GOAL (www.goal.ie/).
Roughly a year after Grad week we bring all the graduates back together to once again reinforce those valuable friendships made during graduate week, spend some time further developing their multi-disciplinary working and also to gain an introduction to Buro Happold the business. During this 2-day event the graduates will attend a series of sessions on disciplines other than their own, the end result giving them an insight to what these teams do.
